SCHOOL OF EXERCISE AND HEALTH SCIENCES

Description:

This six week (240 hours) practicum is intended to provide students with an opportunity to work with clients (individuals or groups) over an extended period. During the practicum students will work with occupational therapists and other professionals and their clients to integrate theory into practice, to develop their clinical reasoning skills and to learn and practise other skills that underpin competent practice. In addition students will have an opportunity to participate in some of the general duties undertaken by occupational therapists and to learn about the systems and legislative frameworks that govern the provision of services within that organisation.
