The Bachelor of Leisure Sciences  is designed to provide the theoretical knowledge and practical skills for a career in the diverse leisure industry. The program includes leadership skills, program development, facility planning and evaluation, community development, fundamental business principles and relevant professional practice opportunities. There is also the opportunity to specialise in various fields to give studies a specific industry focus.

A Leisure Sciences degree offers employment opportunities in the diverse areas of leisure services, tourist resorts, voluntary agencies, sport and recreation associations and facilities, educational institutions, outdoor recreation and interpretation programs.

Graduates have been successful in obtaining positions as recreation officers in local government, leisure centre managers, adventure recreation instructors, aquatic centre managers, children’s program leaders, managers and planners of recreation services in voluntary agencies for youth, Aboriginal people, aged and people with disabilities, government departments and commercial businesses.
