TSM1101 Introduction to Tourism I
SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
Credit Points: 15

Description:

This unit aims to introduce students to the broad spectrum of products and services within the commercial tourism industry.  It reflects on a number of models of tourism demand and supply from a managerial perspective and places these in both a local and international context.  Through an experiential field trip the unit allows students to apply theoretical principles to an applied tourism management setting.  This also means students can assess the impacts of tourism on the economic, social and natural environments.  This unit is an excellent foundation for all other units in the tourism major, and an attractive elective for students interested in leisure, sport, adventure, parks and the outdoors.
