Description:
This unit provides an overview of the major systems utilised by libraries: selection, acquisition, circulation, and preservation of library materials. It also discusses the provision of reference services, inter-library loan and document delivery, collection evaluation and development, the use of integrated automated library systems and cooperative activities. Professional and para-professional roles in these systems will be considered. Archives and records systems will be contrasted with library systems.
