Q05 / D60 Graduate Diploma of Science (Information and Knowledge Management)

The Graduate Diploma of Science (Information and Knowledge Management) is a two-semester full-time (or equivalent part-time) graduate course designed to meet the demand for information and knowledge management skills by people working, or wishing to work, in the emerging knowledge-based industries.  It is designed to impart the theoretical and practical knowledge required for management positions in these industries.  Students who successfully complete the Graduate Diploma can continue their studies in the Master program.

 

The course has three focus streams of study: Information Architechture Information Use and Knowledge Management.  Alkthough it is not compulsory that students limit their electives to one focus, it is advisable to do so.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

The minimum admission requirement is the completion of a three-year tertiary qualification and at least one year’s full time relevant industry experience.  Students may exit this award after the completion of the two core units and two electives with a Graduate Certificate of Information and Knowledge Management.

 

COURSE LOCATION AND MODE OF STUDY

The course is available by full-time or part-time study based at Mount Lawley campus.  Selected units are available through online study.  Off-campus students MUST have regular and reliable access to the Internet and Ecourse.


COURSE STRUCTURE

The program comprises eight units.  Students must complete two core units and six electives.
