CSC1175 Textiles and Clothing 1

Description:
The unit includes the study of textile fibres, the properties of fibres as related to their chemical structure and testing of fibres, the production and characteristics of yarns and fabrics, and the chemistry of textile finishes and dyestuffs. The unit also provides an introduction to Clothing Construction based upon commercial patterns. Students will develop skill in construction techniques and in garment fitting.
