SPM2112 Sport Delivery System

Description:
The unit commences by examining the growth of the sport development system in Australia and overseas. Applying the basic principles and tools of micro-economics and politics to the management and evaluation of sporting programs, facilities and services the process is defined and the continuum and range of service delivery models from federal through state to community levels critically assessed. The structure, function and operations of the Australian sports development delivery system is evaluated in terms of its effectiveness in meeting the manifest needs of sport industry populations and the stated goals of key sport organisations. Students will also investigate the economic impact of government sports policy, funding guidelines and procedures on the delivery of sport services.
