In this unit, students will have an overview of neuro-musculo-skeletal pathophysiology. Students will learn the skill of therapeutic touch through massage. Students will study normal gait and identify the pathologies behind abnormal gait. Students will become familiar with the application of common assessment and management techniques for the peripheries used in musculo-skeletal physiotherapy and the manual therapy treatments of the lower limb. Students will learn how to plan and progress treatments of the lower limb using a client-centred focus. The physiotherapy management of the patient with lower limb orthopaedic conditions is also covered. Full Unit Outline | |||
