M37 Master of Professional Knowledge

INTRODUCTION

The Master of Professional Knowledge is designed to assist professionals to develop creative and higher order thinking skills, along with an appropriate method of inquiry, to solve real and significant problems in their organisation. The degree is located almost entirely in the workplace and uses work activity as the primary vehicle for learning. The course is a fee-paying programme, equivalent to three semesters of full-time study (total 180 Credit Points).

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants will normally be required to have an undergraduate degree and significant experience in a profession. Applicants will need to be currently employed.

 

COURSE LOCATION AND MODE OF STUDY

The course is offered on a full-time and part-time basis on Joondalup and Mount Lawley campuses.

Coursework Electives* (total 60 Credit Points)
 
* The coursework electives will be selected in consultation with the course coordinator and other relevant academic staff. The electives will include units in investigative skills and units relevant to the student's profession.
 
YEAR TWO - SEMESTER 1
Thesis Electives* (total 60 Credit Points)
 
* The thesis electives will be selected in consultation with the course coordinator and other relevant academic staff. The student will work in close partnership with their current employer to investigate and solve a significant issue in the workplace.
