Graduate Diploma of Arts

INTRODUCTION

The Graduate Diploma of Arts is a one year full-time, or equivalent part-time course designed to provide graduate students with the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills relevant to specific occupational fields.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

An appropriate three year degree award from a recognised tertiary institution, or equivalent.

Some fields of study within the Graduate Diploma of Arts may have special admission requirements.  Students should refer to the relevant section on major fields of study for further information.

COURSE STRUCTURE

The course consists of eight units of study.

The following fields of study are available in the School of International, Cultural and Community Studies:

      Aboriginal and Intercultural Studies

      Consultancy in Human and Social Services

      Language Studies

      Professional Writing

      Public Policy and Analysis

      Religious Studies

Religious Studies

The Graduate Diploma of Arts (Religious Studies) comprises eight units which provide specialist preparation in Religious Studies, both in content and educational applications, for graduates who have no academic background in these areas.  It is designed to enable graduates to apply their understanding of religion in further scholarly investigation or to exercise their resultant expertise in the classroom, or through leadership in the school, or in other appropriate contexts such as youth work, social work or in church and other religious agencies.

COURSE LOCATION AND MODE OF STUDY

The course is available by full-time or part-time study on Mount Lawley campus.  It is also available by external study.
