203 Graduate Diploma of Education (Primary)

GENERAL AIM OF THE COURSE

The Graduate Diploma of Education (Primary) course provides appropriate teacher preparation for generalist primary teaching.

 

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Applicants who have successfully completed a Bachelor degree (UG1) or an equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution may apply for a place in the Graduate Diploma of Education (Primary).

Application may be made prior to the completion of the first degree course.

 

COURSE LOCATION AND MODE OF STUDY

The one year course is available by full-time or part-time study on the Mount Lawley and Joondalup campuses.  Periods of Professional Practice require a full-time commitment.

 

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE

The Graduate Diploma of Education (Primary) course requires students to spend at least 15 weeks of time teaching in schools as part of a coordinated program of practice teaching.

 

Because of its responsibility for the education, safety and well-being of children in schools, the teaching profession demands the highest professional standards and personal ethics of practitioners.
