The Graduate Diploma of Education (Early Childhood Studies) course provides appropriate teacher preparation for persons who have obtained a Bachelor degree from a university or an equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution and who seek employment as Early Childhood educators in a range of settings including, kindergarten, pre-primary and junior primary classrooms, which cater for children in the 3-8 years age range.

This course offers a qualification to be eligible to teach. Applicants who have successfully completed a Bachelor degree (UG1) or an equivalent qualification from an approved tertiary institution may apply for a place in the Graduate Diploma of Education (Early Childhood Studies).

Selection is made on the basis of academic qualifications.

Application may be made prior to the completion of the first degree course.

All students must undertake and clear a CrimTrac prior to entering schools and agree to adhere to the School's Rules and Regulations in relation to professional practice.  http://www.education.ecu.edu.au/prac/.

A total of 120 credit points is required to complete this course.
