The Graduate Certificate of Education (Early Childhood Studies) is designed for primary teachers who wish to have a recognised qualification to teach in Kindergarten and Pre-primary settings. This Graduate Certificate is suitable to articulate into the Master of Education course. The course of study is designed to extend the skills and understandings in early childhood education and pedagogy.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Qualified teachers who possess a Bachelor of Education, or a three year degree and a Graduate Diploma of Education, or equivalent. Three year trained teachers with a minimum of five years teaching experience may apply for special entry.

COURSE STRUCTURE The Graduate Certificate of Education (ECS) is a 60 credit point (four units) part-time award. The course has two components:
The are three options for study in this award. Students can choose to complete units which will enable them to teach in K and PP settings or Pre-K settings. |
