WAAPA00001 | Acquire and rehearse basic skills in acting
WESTERN AUSTRALIAN ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS
Description: | |||
This introduction to Acting Skills is founded on the traditional training values of Stanislavsky and his philosophical descendants. Students examine the basis of drama: high stakes; conflict; uncertain outcome; and identification with the protagonist. Script analysis is studied as a means to better understand acting as a component of the whole creative dramatic process and not an isolated art form. This unit puts emphasis on improvisation, impulse work, connecting with the dramatic imagination, personification, sensory awareness, story telling, focus, stage awareness and working in an ensemble.
