MPE3202 Primary Mathematics and Numeracy 2

Description:

This unit is designed to prepare students to teach mathematics at all levels of primary education and covers long and short term planning, the use of a range of teaching, learning and assessment strategies, evaluation, and reporting student achievement against defined outcomes. Approaches for teaching children with particular needs and in a variety of educational environments will be addressed, together with the development and implementation of integrated learning experiences across different areas of the mathematics curriculum and across learning areas. Students will extend their appreciation of the usefulness of mathematics in daily life and their skills in communicating mathematically.
