WESTERN AUSTRALIAN ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS
Credit Points: 15

Description:

Ideas and production concepts are discussed and resolved through the production of creative works in one or more media relating to the discipline-specific studies undertaken in Principal Studies 1 and 2.   A high level of communication skills will be demonstrated through the production and presentation of a major body of work. Creative works will include substantial background research and development material, along with a clearly identified strategy by which to communicate them.  Authentic models will develop an enhanced understanding of the discipline and practical skills are refined in conjunction with Production Practice 5 which allow the student to independently initiate original work and processes, fully engage in the collaborative process, lead teams, problem solve, make decisions and coordinate activities. This unit may be undertaken in one of the following disciplines: costume, design, lighting, sound, stage management, staging or directing.
