Students will be introduced to the theory, research and practice of visual arts education for Years 1-7. By appreciating how visual arts contributes to child development and education, students can aim to plan engaging and meaningful art experiences for children. In studio sessions, students are able to develop their confidence and understanding by undertaking practical art activities using a range of processes and technologies complemented by discussion, reflection and art appreciation. The Curriculum Framework and appropriate visual arts teaching practices will be examined. Students will have the opportunity to teach visual arts lessons to small groups of Primary children and/or peers. Full Unit Outline | |||
