CUE2103 Physical Education for Young Children

Description:

This unit introduces students to the philosophies and practices that are currently utilised in the teaching of physical education in the early years. Emphasis is placed on the development of knowledge and teaching skills to facilitate the planning, implementation and assessment of learning outcomes in the Health and Physical Education Learning Area. The study of fundamental movement skills and movement concepts are embedded throughout the unit. A significant practical component provides opportunities for students to engage in and plan, a variety of learning experiences and teaching environments to promote physical activity and produce competent, confident and creative movers.
