ECE2102 Healthy, Active and Safe Children

Description:

This unit aims to provide students with a sound knowledge base from which they are able to plan, deliver and evaluate high quality health, safety and nutrition practices for children 0-8 years.  Students are introduced to current research in relation to children’s health including a review of health issues affecting indigenous children.   A range of health issues, which affect young children and the policies and practices that are implemented in early childhood settings to promote health and prevent illness is addressed.  This unit also provides students with the opportunity to develop teaching skills and strategies that will assist young children to stay healthy, active and safe.
