Description: | |||
This unit aims to make students fully conversant with the role and place of computer systems and information technology in today’s society. Information dominates every aspect of activity that we undertake, from commercial to recreational. An understanding of the systems and the technology that manage the information is essential for everyone. The self-management skills (e.g. values clarification, goal setting, professional planning and organisation) are incorporated in an endeavour to encourage the student to understand how information technology can be personally relevant both to career and business success and to personal and social life in the 'information age'
