SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ARTS
Credit Points: 15
Prerequisites:
Audition

Description:

This work is designed to enable students to begin to understand the notion of character (and recent shifts) and the significance of this work in ‘postmodern’/contemporary terms. The focus here is on the latter part of Stanislavski’s life –with extremely useful implications for Contemporary Performance/postmodern theory – specifically in relation to physical (as opposed to psychological) systems of training. Students will develop an understanding of working through impulse, initially working in detail on contemporary texts - short scenes involving interaction within a small group of characters.
