Description:
The main goal of this course is to enable students to reflect critically on curriculum and pedagogy in Society and Environment at the secondary level. Current practices and issues in teaching/learning and assessment of learning in upper and lower secondary school will be introduced. The focus will be on the development of skills appropriate for the implementation of a variety of teaching/learning and assessment strategies. These should reflect the needs and interests of a diverse group of learners and school systems, the social contexts of schooling, and the role of the Society and Environment Learning Area in a democratic society. The unit will focus on implementing WACE courses of study in senior schools.
