CMM5102 Publication: Preparation, Research and Writing
SCHOOL OF COMMUNICATIONS AND ARTS

Description:
In this unit, students will develop a literature review to support their thesis proposal and to inform their research project. They will also develo a piece of work for publication. Specifically, they will learn skills and gain information on the process of publication, including identifying academic journals and other forms of publication most appropriate to their research; assessing the remits and work of these journals; deciding which is most suitable as a venue for publication of their work; working with a style sheet; developing a writing style which is suitable for that publication forum; understanding the refereeing system and working to produce revised drafts. They will prepare a paper for publication taking account of these concerns.
