In this unit students examine the development of public and private provisions for children from birth to fourteen years of age. Particular attention is placed on the role of industrialisation, the women’s movement and feminism in influencing the status of children and non-parental care in contemporary industrialised societies. Attention is also given to regulatory, accreditation and evaluation systems pertinent to the provision of services for children from birth to fourteen years of age. Full Unit Outline | |||
