Description:
The fifth Professional Practice for Early Childhood Studies students can be undertaken in either a child-care, kindergarten/pre-primary or junior primary setting. This unit is intended to provide the student teacher with the opportunity to work with children over an extended period of time and to further refine teaching skills. This practicum also provides the student teacher with the opportunity to develop collaborative and collegial work practices that assist in problem solving and to develop leadership skills. Students will be placed in pairs with an emphasis on developing experience in team teaching, collaborative planning, peer assessment and reflective practice.
