MPE4103 Primary Mathematics Education 1

Description:
The content of this unit focusses on mathematics education from Years 1 to 7. A number of the issues which a primary teacher must face in an attempt to provide a quality mathematics program for his/her class will be explored. Content and strategies for teaching the strands of space (Yrs 1-3), measurement (Yrs 1-3) and number (Yrs 1-7) will be examined. The opportunity for students to evaluate problem solving strategies with a small group of children will be given.
