This unit focuses on curriculum documents, instructional techniques and materials for teaching English in the upper secondary school. Taking Western Australian secondary schooling as its context, the unit covers the 'postcompulsory' frameworks; Curriculum Council requirements; syllabus content and organisation; professional reading; planning and programming skills; teaching methods for particular skills and text areas; and examination formats and processes.
