Description: | |||
This unit provides an understanding of fundamental features of marine systems and processes that structure their biodiversity. The unit focuses on examining physical and biological forces on populations and communities at small and large spatial scales, particularly in temperate systems. It draws on examples from a range of key ecosystems including seagrass, reef, intertidal, mangrove and pelagic systems. The unit uses a problem-solving approach, with an emphasis on developing rigorous experimental designs to answer complex theoretical questions in marine ecology. Full Unit Outline | |||
