Credit Points: 20

Description:
This unit provides an overview of issues in ageing and aged services, with emphasis upon seniors within a ‘greying’ Australia. Ageing is explored as a societal production. The unit explores issues and articulates alternatives in the provision of aged services. The prejudice of ageism is exposed and strategies are suggested towards the development of 'grey' social and political empowerment. This unit facilitates the development of a philosophical framework for working with seniors, so informing practice through theory.
