EDS2101 Principles and Practices of Teaching

Description:
This unit explores the life and developmental challenges of the adolescent learner and the implications of these for teaching and learning.  This unit provides an introduction to some important principles and practices associated with effective teaching. A range of skills, strategies and methods associated with effective teaching will be investigated and these will be considered in relationship to fundamental concepts associated with human development. The model of the teacher as a reflective, autonomous educator able to make justifiable professional decisions and to develop appropriate strategies for their implementation will be stressed throughout the unit.
