ECS1102 Introduction to Early Childhood Education

Description:
This unit introduces students to the field of early childhood education. Analysis of current research and questions that impact on the theories of development and learning for children 0-8 will be considered. Examination of factors influencing the diversity of learning and development and the importance of play in early development is a focus of this unit. The implications of policy, legislation and accreditation for early childhood practice will also be addressed. Connections between theory and practice will be made through in-depth observation and investigation of young children during field placements.
