Description:

This unit focuses on evidence-based practice and the tools for critically appraising research. It includes the synthesis and translation of information derived from research into practical knowledge and skills that can be used in practice. The use of observation and interviewing as tools for data collection, and methodologies for practice-based research are reviewed. The application of interviewing and group work methods are explored and practiced in clinical settings. The concept of mentoring and career growth and development are introduced.
