Description:

This unit aims to develop the teacher's skill as a facilitator and decision-maker in the teaching learning process for post-compulsory courses. It assumes a model of the post-compulsory teacher as a rational autonomous educator able to make justifiable professional decisions and to develop appropriate strategies for their implementation. The unit focuses clearly on the development of advanced skills and strategies to facilitate the teaching learning process. It includes a focus on outcomes-content-contexts as the basis for planning, applications of ICT, development of resources and outcomes-based assessment. Strong emphasis is placed on relating these topics to action learning in the year 11 and 12 classes.
