PTY5122 Professional Issues for Physiotherapists 2: Management and Leadership

Description:

This unit prepares the student for the workforce by providing guidance with the job application processe and links to professional support and resources. It also addresses business issues such as business, financial and marketing plans. Students will compare government employment versus private practice. Alternative models of health care, service delivery and scope of practice will be reviewed. Leadership styles, problem solving and conflict resolution are also reviewed. The responsibility of the physiotherapist as a life-long learner is discussed with a focus on professional development pathways, research opportunities, and further studies.
