This unit acquaints students with the basic technique used by psychodynamic theory. On completion of the unit, students will have had the opportunity to practice the application of psychoanalytic psychotherapies. This unit will permit an appreciation of the clinical foundations of general psychoanalytic theory, recognition of the importance of confidentiallity (ethics) to the practice of this form of counselling and offer students the opportunity to practice basic therapeutic skills.
