Description:
The purpose of this unit is to consolidate students' knowledge of the science learning area of the Curriculum Framework for Western Australia and the curriculum materials available for lower secondary science. The unit is designed to allow students to explore scientific investigations and to familiarise them with the numeracy and literacy issues that surround the use of textbooks in the science classroom. The unit also examines the use of ICT in the science classroom, including interactive white boards and the use of Web Quests. The unit emphasises a conceptual understanding of the principles of the constructivist approach to science instruction.
