HST5143 Clinical Sports Injury: Diagnosis and Management 1

Description:
This unit provides information relating to the aetiology, prevention, symptoms, signs, investigation and methods of management of overuse injuries incurred as the result of sports participation. A regional approach is taken and injury to the following regions is covered: the hand, wrist, forearm, shoulder, back, groin, pelvis and hip, thigh, knee, lower leg, ankle and foot. Special consideration is given to nerve entrapment syndromes, stress fractures, compartment syndromes, medial tibial stress syndrome and Achilles and patella tendonitis.
