The capability to lead change is critical for managers working in our increasingly complex organisations. This unit aims to take the theories and approaches to leading and managing change off the page and into your current and future workplace practice. You will explore the strategies and the practices of leading change to generate a critical understanding of how to choose and apply change methods and processes in diverse contexts. Class interaction will support you in generating a personal change tookit by exploring different approaches, perceptions, practices, concepts and frameworks for change management. You will make a proposal to explore a real change initiative in an organisation, presenting your findings to the class and producing your critique in a final report. The unit also builds your ability to lead change by exploring your own capabilities and skills as a change agent by self-assessment and through producing a personal development plan.
