MTP5204 Performance Theories 2

Description:

This unit develops the student's theoretical and practical understanding of some of the complex fields of knowledge and issues - including the analogue and digital modes, the use of internet material and hypertext in relation to live performance work - which are part of contemporary approaches to visual aesthetics, performance and cultural context in the new millennium. The unit deals with postmodern theorisation as it develops between the late 1970s and 1990s, and enquires into the implications of technologies for theatre practices, performance art, visual theatre and movement based theatre, and for spectating and interpretation.
