L78 Graduate Certificate of Education (TESOL)

The Graduate Certificate of Education (TESOL) requires the equivalent of one semester of full-time study and is designed to allow students to develop or enhance their skills and understandings in particular areas of specialised study. Completion of the Graduate Certificate of Education (TESOL) normally provides entry and 60 credit points advanced standing in the coursework Master of Education.

 

 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

Admission to the course normally requires a Bachelor of Education or a three year degree and a Graduate Diploma of Education, or equivalent. Professionals with other appropriate non-teaching qualifications are welcome to apply. International applicants require an Academic IELTS overall band minimum score of 7.0 (no individual band less than 6.5)

COURSE STRUCTURE

This course consists of four units (60 credit points).

 
Select at least 45 credit points (three units) from the following:
 
LAN5171 Teaching ESL Learners 15
LAN5172 ESL Teaching Practice 15
LST5181 Understanding Language 15
LST5182 Using Language 15
 
Students may select any approved Level 5 Education unit as their fourth unit, in consultation with the Course Coordinator.
