PAS5104 Effective Medical Consultations and Clinical Reasoning

Description:

This unit further develops the clinical skills of history taking and physical examination and the formulation of differential diagnoses in relation to neurology, psychiatry, the head and neck, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, emergency medicine and undifferentiated disease. Focus will be placed on the patient's perspective of illness, the patient-practitioner relationship, clinical reasoning, clinical management and thorough medical record keeping. Students will develop the skills and knowledge necessary to communicate effectively with diverse patient and health professional populations and gain an in-depth understanding of the role of physician assistants in the Australian health care system. This unit should be studied concurrently with PAS5103.
