MIS5703 Databases and Business Intelligence

Description:
This unit explores the use of databases and business intelligence in organisations. It is a practical guide to designing, building, and implementing databases (DB) to support organisational goals. Students will learn relational database design concepts and the database query language Structured Query Language (SQL) to define and manipulate a database.  For business managers, effective database management for supporting organizational intelligence promises significant competitive advantage. This unit will use a prevalent database application to ensure that students have a sound understanding and practical knowledge of this important component of information systems (IS).
