This unit considers key aspects of the history of the Twentieth Century and how Australia and Australians responded to the challenges of global issues such as: world wars; decolonisation of European empires; the global impact of ideologies such as communism and capitalism; the establishment of international organisations such as the League of Nations and the United Nations.
