A54 Certificate II in Dance | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
INTRODUCTION Ballet classes include specialist work in floor barre, barre and centre practice and alignment. Contemporary dance classes develop an increased vocabulary through floorwork, technical combinations and compositional elements. The Certificate program is designed for those students who intend to audition for tertiary dance programs. This VET course is offered by WAAPA as a Registered Training Organisation under the Australian Quality Training Framework, and is accredited through the Training Accreditation Council of Western Australia. |

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS Students apply directly to the Academy for admission. Admission is competitive and by audition only. Normally students who audition for the Certificate must have passed the Elementary RAD or equivalent. Male students may apply for audition if they have a lower level of dance training but experience in related areas such as gymnastics. All applicants are assessed on their artistic qualities and potential for success in dance. A medical clearance certificate may be required.
