Master of Professional Communications
INTRODUCTION The Master of Professional Communications is a three semester full-time or equivalent part-time course designed to provide graduates of other disciplines with the opportunity to acquire advanced knowledge and understanding of a specialised field of communications. Each stream consists of two stages:
Two semester full-time (or part-time equivalent) taught units of study;
One semester full-time (or part-time equivalent) preparation and completion of a project(s).
COURSE LOCATION AND MODE OF STUDY The course is available by full-time or part-time study on Mount Lawley campus.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS There are two admission paths to the degree:
Mass Communication
The Master of Professional Communications (Mass Communication) has a focus on contemporary media and communications and introduces students to a range of theoretical, practical and critical approaches used in the analysis of media and its role in shaping society. The course allows students to construct a hybrid programme of study which looks at theory and practice in fields such as advertising, electronic communication, journalism and visual communication. It also trains students to think critically and to research and communicate effectively. |
