W68 Graduate Certificate of Exercise and Sports Science (Teaching and Coaching)

The Graduate Certificate of Exercise and Sports Science (Teaching and Coaching) is a 2 semester, part time course that provides a graduate study pathway for the professional development of physical education teachers and sports coaches.

 
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
Relevant undergraduate degree or evidence of 5 years full time industry experience or equivalent. Evidence of knowledge in Functional Anatomy & Human Physiology (students must have completed similar units at tertiary level or through a national coaching accreditation course). 
 
COURSE LOCATION
This course is available on Joondalup Campus.
 
MODE OF STUDY
This course is available by Part-time mode.
 
MODE OF DELIVERY
This course is available in the following mode of delivery - Online.

Lectures will be delivered externally (on-line). Laboratories will be delivered on campus over one weekend during the semester.
 
COURSE STRUCTURE
Students are required to successfully complete 3 units totalling 60 credit points. The course consists of two mandatory units SPS4211 and SPS4119. The third unit, available only in Semester 2, can be selected from SPS5126, SPS4108 or HPE5201. Each unit is 20 credit points.

ELECTIVE UNITS
Students may select their third unit of study from:
 
SPS5126 Advanced Resistance Training 20 
or
SPS4108 Physiological Testing of Human Performance 20 
or
HPE5201 Planning Curriculum and Assessment for Senior School PE Studies 20
