Description:

This unit focuses on contemporary social movements – one of the key forms through which people gather to give voice to grievances. A number of theoretical approaches to the understanding of social movements will be examined. The development of collective identity along with diverse forms of collective action will be analysed. Various approaches and concepts will be explored through their application to particular case studies.
