This unit aims to foster enterprising and creative attitudes through a hands-on, problem based approach. Strategies and techniques are modelled that extend the learning environment beyond the four walls of the traditional classroom. Content and methodology will be examined in terms of personal, social and global perspectives with the intention to develop resourceful, centred and self-reflective students. The individuality of learners will be recognised through the facilitation of projects with an emphasis on the elements of the Technology Process. An Action Learning Model will assist students to identify professional development needs for effective teaching in this area and inform their decisions for the Life Skills unit.
