ERC1102 Human Development and Learning
SCHOOL OF REGIONAL PROFESSIONAL STUDIES

Description:

This unit introduces students to human development and learning as a basis for stimulating effective teaching and learning practices. Initially the unit explores the physical, cognitive and social-emotional dimensions of human growth and development, with implications for educators. Students examine the psychomotor, cognitive and affective categories of learning, including awareness of brain-based learning, and reflect on an individual’s role in constructing their own knowledge. Students are involved in practical workshops on motor learning of young children, linked to Physical Education and the Arts Learning Area. School-based settings are utilised to observe and interpret student behaviour.
