An introduction to managing  and the nature of managerial work. Discussion of the roles and characteristics of managerial work; the environment, structure and culture of organisations. The course includes the development of major theories as well as current managerial practice: ways of understanding managing, approaches to learning about managing; the nature of managerial work; environment and structure of organisations; the manager’s roles and activities
